Overview
As a freelance Ecomm Strategist & Content Editor for Shopify, I curated content and merchandised their ecommerce platform on Frenzy, their app for capturing the high-energy, time-sensitive nature of flash sales and geo-based events. Through this I also helped build and execute GTM strategies for existing Shopify merchants to use the new platform. Working with Shopify allowed me to explore new creative approaches to engage and excite customers, while also contributing to the development of a cutting-edge ecommerce platform.
Before the app was shut down, the platform averaged over 20,000 downloads per month and drove over $18 million in revenue for Frenzy's retail partners.
Approach
I worked on a range of content types including product descriptions, promotional copy, email newsletters and organic social. I worked closely with Shopify's product team to ensure that the content was aligned with the overall brand strategy and messaging, while also adhering to best practices for SEO, user acquisition, conversion optimization and UI.
A few strategies I implemented to grow the user base was the use of emotive language, dynamic creatives and engaging copywriting. I was also involved in developing and testing new content formats such as a gamified shopping experience, interactive promotions and geo-based flash sales.
